About OnRoute

Bangalore, India · Made for drivers, by a driver

OnRoute is a mobile companion for people who love the road. It plans road trips, holds your hand through the drive with a hands-free AI copilot, tracks the cost of the flight you've been eyeing, and quietly reminds you when a price drops. Built in Bangalore, launched on iOS, coming to Android.

This page is a quick introduction to who we are and why OnRoute exists. If you're here from a partnership or press request, we'd love to hear from you — details at the bottom.

Why we built OnRoute

Most travel apps treat a road trip as an afterthought — an "off-highway" edge case squeezed between hotel bookings and airline deals. But road trips are their own thing: they involve music, meal breaks, checkpoints, someone in the passenger seat looking things up, and a driver whose hands are on the wheel.

The founder built OnRoute after one too many drives where finding food, changing music, or knowing "how much further" meant fumbling with a phone at a red light. We wanted a co-pilot that lives on the dashboard, not another app you have to manage.

The flight-tracking side (OnFlight) grew from the same instinct: cheap flights don't happen at your convenience, they happen while you're driving your kid to school or in a meeting. Let the app watch for you, ping you when the price drops, book with one tap.

What OnRoute does today

Who's behind OnRoute

Aswin Madollathil — Founder, based in Bangalore.

Long-time software engineer and even longer-time road-tripper. Started OnRoute after realising every trip involved switching between five apps at every stoplight. Building the product he wished existed.

Where we're going

OnRoute launched on iOS in mid-2026. Android is on the roadmap for later in the year. The product goal is to be the single app you open before, during, and after any journey — road or air.

We're a small team, self-funded, and independent. If any of this resonates and you'd like to be an early tester, investor, or partner, please write in.
